Located on the Colorado River between Arizona and Nevada, Bullhead City is an oasis of history and recreation. Every year approximately 5 million people visit the Bullhead City/Nevada area because of the Colorado River, casino nightlife, camping, and off-roading opportunities plus the year-round sunshine makes it a perfect vacation spot. How to Get There:
Bullhead City, AZ is a great place to visit because it is nearby so many awesome places. A short drive to Bullhead City will give you the opportunity to explore water sports activities, casino nightlife, camping, learn about the history of the city and much more.
Los Angeles, CA to Bullhead City, AZ:
- Get on US-101 S
- Follow I-10 E/San Bernardino Fwy
- Continue straight onto I-15 N (signs for Barstow)
- Continue on to I-40 E (follow signs for Needles)
- Take exit 139 toward River Rd Cutoff
- Take Needles Hwy and Bullhead Pkwy to Fort Mojave Dr in Bullhead City
Phoenix, AZ to Bullhead City, AZ:
- Get on I-10 W towards Los Angeles
- Continue onto Arizona State Rte 303
- Take the exit toward US 60
- Continue straight onto US-93
- Merge onto I-40 W/US-93 N
- Take exit 48 to merge onto US-93 N/W Beale St toward AZ-68 W/Las Vegas
- Use the right 2 lanes to take the AZ-68 W ramp to Bullhead City/Laughlin
Where to Stay:
Bullhead City is a great place to visit for vacation because there are many forms of lodging available. If you are planning to camp out, Bullhead City has 9 mobile home parks and 21 RV parks throughout the city (i.e. Davis Dam, Big Bend, etc.). If you plan to camp out make sure you plan ahead in advance because these camping areas reach capacity all the time during the peak months (November-May). If camping is not your thing there are hotels and motels thought-out Bullhead City from every price range as well.
Off-Road Trails:
Aside from the water sport activities, Bullhead City also offers some great off-road trails for the ultimate off-road enthusiasts.
- Eagle Pass: Eagle Pass is a loop trail that follows the long East Mojave Heritage Trail. The trail takes about half a day to complete.
- Moss Mine Trail: This short trail lead to the Moss Mine, which has some interesting ruins of stone buildings, many shafts, and a steel headframe.
- Mossback Wash Trail: This narrow track roams through some spectacular Black Mountains scenery before dropping into Mossback Wash. Nearby, there are caves said to be the hideouts of some German prisoners of war from World War II who escaped from the camp in Kingman.

Davis Dam:
If you want to get away from the flashy lights of the casinos then head on over to Davis Dam for the best camping experience. Less than a mile away from Bullhead City, David Dam lets you sleep under the stars right next to the Colorado River. The Big Bend Colorado River in Laughlin is about 2 miles of sandy shoreline. It is an ocean beach oasis in the middle of one of America’s driest deserts. The Big Bend is downstream from Davis Dam so the river is clear and cool year-round. The current is swift so we recommend walking up the river and floating back down to the park on your back or on an inner tube. The Big Bend is a great location to camp out, BBQ, go fishing, swimming, hiking, and spending a great day with friends and family.
