Did you just purchase a UTV, but do not know when the best time to ride it is? One of the things that makes California the best state is its beautiful weather. However, we have come up with the best times of the year for the best UTV riding in California you will ever experience!

• November: UTV Riding Begins!

  

  Officially called "UTV Season," the best time to go out and ride a UTV in California begins at the end of October. Fall is officially in full force and the weather has cooled down enough from the hot summer, but there is still no chill in the air. With such mild temperatures, this time of year is perfect for exploring the UTV trails. The only caveat is that daylight savings has ended, leaving you one less hour to play. • December: Having the Dunes to Yourself!

  

  Again, the weather this time of year is ideal! The weather is mild and damp, bringing cooler temperatures, scattered rain showers and cloudy days, but still have plenty of sunshine along the way. The sunsets are stunning this time of year as well. Since the crowds will be taking their holiday vacations, that will leave you the dunes all to yourself. If you are looking for some riding dunes, make sure to visit the number one dune destination in the western US: Glamis. There's golden sand as far as the eye can see. This means you can completely unleash the adventurous spirit in your blood through your off-road vehicle: jumps, drag races and bottomless dune bowls, you can do it all here.

• January: Cooler Temps for Riding!

  

  The perfect times for UTV riding continues on to the new year. The month of January is a great month to ride because although it is winter time and the weather is mild and wet, there is still plenty of sunshine in California making in a great time to go out and ride. Johnson Valley offers a riding styles and opportunities for every skill level and every kind of terrain from dirt to rock to dune. Numerous dry lakebeds in Johnson Valley are used for beginners and children to practice on, while more advanced riders enjoy the technical hill climbs. No matter what you like to ride this place has something for everyone!

• February: Last Ride Before the Heat Wave!

  

  February will be the last month for great riding because the weather is beginning to change again. The days are starting to become warmer as spring approaches. As the days get hotter and the temperature raise up to triple digits, it will get too hot to ride comfortably. The month of February has cool weather with less rain and more sunshine than January. The Dumont Dunes Off-Highway Vehicle Area (8,150 acres) is an exciting and remote area for off-highway vehicle recreation. Bordered by steep volcanic hills and the slow running Amargosa River, the region is easily recognized from a distance by its distinctive sand dunes.

California is known to have beautiful weather all year round, but it is between the months of October to February when you will experience the best UTV riding California has to offer. With sunny and mild temperatures pretty much everyday, you will have the best UTV riding experiences!
