Useful Accessories for your Jet Ski
Riding a Jet Ski is a ton of fun and especially when you have been waiting forever to go out! When thinking about all this fun you may forget some accessories that could be added to make it more fun or to be safe in general. Listed below are a few of the items you should always have in and on your ski so you are always prepared.
Life Vest/PFD
A Life Vest is not only REQUIRED by law but can save your life! Getting the correct size is very important as well because getting the wrong size could put you at risk and in some cases make things worse if it is ill-fitting. There are plenty of great brands and styles to choose from so make sure and take the time to try them on until you find the one that “fits”!
Folding Paddle and extra rope
Folding paddles can be very useful in unexpected situations. For example, if you run out of gas, your battery dies, if you’ve sucked up rocks or a rope, or if you need something to wave down passing boaters. A rope is pretty self-explanatory but can be used for countless applications or situations that may also come up. Both of these could really help you when you least expect it.
Jet Ski Anchor
Jet Ski anchors are super important. You’ll want to make sure you find the appropriately sized anchor that you can carry with you. And if you plan on hanging out in the cove, swimming, exploring the water or even fishing you’ll need an anchor so your ski doesn't drift away!
Re-boarding Ladder
If your ski does not already come with a ladder don't forget to consider purchasing one and having it installed as it can help immensely in getting back on your ski should you fall off.
GoPro/HD Camera
Lastly while not really necessary a GoPro HD Camera can allow you to capture all of the fun and action and then let you re-watch all of the awesome moments you had. They’re very user-friendly and waterproof making this the most ideal, cool, and optional Jet Ski accessory. Once you have one you will wonder why you didn't have one sooner!
Adding these items to riding your Jet Ski will ensure some safety and a good time too. Don’t forget to carry all of the items required by law on your Jet Ski too such as a fire extinguisher, swimmers flag, whistle, registration numbers etc.
